Recipes: Maki Sushi Rolls
• Have a bowl of water to wet your hands while handling rice so it doesn’t stick to your hands, alternatively, use disposable gloves and rub some mayonnaise or oil.
• Cover the bamboo sushi mat with cling wrap. This will prevent the ingredients especially the rice from sticking to the mat, making clean-up much simpler.
• Only place a thin layer of rice on the nori seaweed sheet, and don’t overstuff with fillings so your roll doesn’t fall apart.
• To make a sushi roll with the rice on the outside, simply flip over the nori after spreading the rice on the sheet and proceed as usual.
• To have clean cut rolls, make sure your knife is sharp, and also wet your knife with water.
